Rhode Island’s state agencies and their community partners work together to help parents, caregivers, and young children during the early years.

Supporting young children and their families is a shared priority in Rhode Island. This website is a collaborative effort, bringing together information and resources from key state agencies and numerous dedicated community organizations. Our collective goal is to provide a resource that empowers families and helps every child get a strong, healthy start in life.

Key State Agency Partners

Department of Human Services (DHS) Licenses childcare programs, provides assistance to families including childcare, RI Works and SNAP, and houses the RISES system for early educators.
Department of Health (RIDOH) Supports the health of parents and children through the WIC nutrition program, family home visiting, and health awareness information.
Department of Education (RIDE) Supports early learning through RI Early Learning Development Standards (RIELDS), RI Pre-K, Child Outreach, and special education.
Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) Supports children and their families involved in child protection, behavioral health, and juvenile justice.

These agencies, in partnership with local non-profits, healthcare providers, early childhood educators, and community groups, form the backbone of Rhode Island’s commitment to its youngest residents.
