What to do in an emergency or crisis

If you require immediate medical attention or if a child or others are at immediate risk of harm, please visit your nearest hospital emergency department or dial 911.

Call 988 for 24/7 call, text and chat access with trained crisis counselors who can help people experiencing suicidal, substance use, and/or mental health crisis, or any other kind of emotional distress, and when needed, a connection to an in-person response from a Mobile Response and Stabilization Services team. You can also dial 988 if you are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support. For TTY Users: Use your preferred relay service or dial 711, then 988.

To help prevent an emergency, no matter what drugs or medications are in your house, put them away, lock them up, store them out of reach, and dispose of them safely. Order a free lock bag.
